May Day!

Dear Delaney Families,
May has arrived and hopefully we have seen the last flurry! The students came back from spring vacation ready to learn and we have seen their efforts throughout Delaney. There was an amazing poetry event in Grade 1, fractions work in Grade 3, and continued writing projects in every grade. Here are some highlights from the week:
Grade 1 Poetry and Song Jubilee
Mrs. Riccio's Class and Mrs. Albertini's Class

May Day Poem
Mrs. Nunes' Kindergarten

Grade 3 had lunch with
Norfolk DARE Officer Plympton
The students were a respectful group while listening to Officer Plympton talk about the special summer DARE program for current Grade 3 students.

No Kindergarten on Friday May 29th due to Kindergarten Screening.

Parent input letters are due Friday May 8th. They can be brought to school or sent electronically.

Volunteer Opportunity
Dear Parents,
The Art Show for grades K-3 is at the end of May.  Please consider volunteering an hour and a half of your time on any of the following times:
Friday, May 22 from 8:20-9:40 a.m. (This is the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend)
Art Room: For an hour and ten minutes we will glue the students’ art work to large pieces of poster paper.
 Wednesday, May 27 from 8:30-10:00 a.m.
Gibbon’s Gym :This time will be spent setting up the actual Art Show.
 Wednesday, May 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Gibbons Gym: Dismantling the Art Show.  The show must be taken down immediately.  Many hands make for light work.
The Art Show is Wednesday, May 27 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
I hope you will consider volunteering.  Without volunteers the show could not take place.  It is a great event for all.  Thank you.
Best regards,
Andrea Lovely

Silent Auction bidding ends  May 5th

Dear Families,

The 10th annual S.W.I.S.H. (Student with Illnesses Score Help) Charity basketball game will take place on Thursday, May 28th @7:00 P.M. in the Gibbons Gymnasium. Over the past 9 years the community has raised over $50,000 for Wrentham students dealing with serious illnesses.

There will be a few changes this year:
• Families will order tickets online ONLY.
• Students will also have an opportunity to fundraise using the new website to help support this great cause.
• Students will earn prizes as they fundraise: VIP Seating, Guaranteed Foul Shots, Red Sox tickets and more!
• The S.W.I.S.H. website will be up and running on Tuesday, May 5th.

• Directions regarding how to use this website will be sent home with students on Monday and via email to families.

The Wrentham Public Schools have a new phone system which was put in place during April Vacation.  There is one general phone number (508-384-5430) for the district.  This will bring you to
an automated system which allows you to reach any of the schools' offices or departments.

Thank you for Reading and Viewing!
