MCAS.png  Grade 3 MCAS results were sent home this week. We have a lot to be proud of.

All teachers in the district began Professional Development this week on the topic of Writers Workshop. High energy and excitement is in the air.
Your children should be talking about writing a lot in the coming months!
What is Writer's Workshop?
Writer's Workshop is a time for students to write about topics of their choosing. Students learn that writing involves having something to say; they find real reasons to express and convey their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Students study professional authors and a variety of genres throughout the year, and use these studies to learn more about the craft of writing. Teachers explicitly model the process and conventions of writing through focus lessons and individual writing conferences.

Wrentham Food Pantry Clothing Drive
This is a triple win project. New and like new clothing are distributed at Christmas time to Pantry clients. We have an ongoing fundraiser with Chic2Chic, allowing the Pantry to garner 50% of proceeds. All other clothing will be placed in the textile bins and the money will go to the Wrentham Public Schools for direct distribution by PTO.
I would like to have a drop off on Monday October 5th 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wrentham Food Pantry located behind the Congregational Church in the Whiston House. Summer and winter clothing accepted for men women and children. We will also be accepting accessories, like shoes, belts and purses.
No under garmets or bathing suits, sleepwear, please.
Tax receipts available for donations.
Call Denise at (508) 241-5185.

Mrs. Mariotti received a PTO mini grant for the Freddie the Frog Series!

Reminder to check out Mrs. Marriotti's website for music class updates.
This fall the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation is teaming up with Cradles to Crayons for our annual winter coat drive.  We are looking to collect gently used and new winter coats for infants, toddlers and children as Cradles to Crayons expect over 17,000 requests for coats this winter alone.

Thank you for reading and viewing!
